Are You Feeling: Desperate, “Thirsty”, Lonely—Emotional

June 18, 2021 By Rhonda

Are You Feeling:

Desperation-the feeling that you have when you are in such a bad situation that you are willing to take risks in order to change it:

Desperate—(RISKY)-feeling that you have no hope and are ready to do anything to change the bad situation you are in

Thirsty—having or showing a strong desire for something

Social Media “Thirsty”- slang, describes a graceless need for approval, affection or attention

Lonely-without companions; solitary; alone; without company

Feeling—an emotional state or reaction.

Emotions or Our Emotional Response to daily life:

The reason that we have emotions is that God has emotions. The ability to feel comes from our being made in the image of God. Surrender your emotions, feelings, thoughts, concerns, fears, desires, needs, etc to the Holy Spirit–The very Spirt of God within you. Give it all to Jesus and build up your relationship with Him. Your relationship with Jesus is the most important relationship you will ever have both now and throughout eternity. It is the relationship upon which all other relationships are built on. Your Foundation.

Become Desperate and Thirsty for God, Let Him fulfill you and bring you joy and peace the kind that no other human relationship can give you. What you are really feeling is a deep longing for intimacy with God. Desperation, loneliness, thirsty-slang, are voids that only the Holy Spirit can fill. Don’t sell yourself short. You are the apple of God’s eye, His very beloved. God wants the best for you. He has plans for you that are all good. It’s a matter of choice, you can choose to do things God’s way. Don’t you want to reap all the good rewards Jesus has prepared for you? They are yours But you need to do things His way, not your own. You did not create yourself, you were created by God in His image and likeness. God knows what is best for you.

Allow the lover of your soul to love on you and to give you His good blessings. Don’t be deceived, if you reject God and insist on doing things your way you will experience the consequences of your bad decisions. Come on, your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Glorify God in every area of your life. Glorify God in your emotions, decisions, the things you think about. Read the Bible and study it daily. Imagine if you spend time with God like you do focusing on other things. Focus on God. Watch what happens when you put God first in your life. I am excited for your surrender, your Yes to God. You are going to experience a peace and a joy that is so amazing. If you think intimacy with a partner is what you want, try intimacy with Jesus. Quiet time with Jesus, Yes. It is the absolute best. Jesus is eagerly waiting for you, He wants your attention and longs to spend quality time with you. Get the foundation good. Then when God sends your ‘good thing’ it will be custom made just for you.

Colossians Chapter 3 (The Message Bible)

1-2 So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from his perspective.

3-4 Your old life is dead. Your new life, which is your real life—even though invisible to spectators—is with Christ in God. He is your life. When Christ (your real life, remember) shows up again on this earth, you’ll show up, too—the real you, the glorious you. Meanwhile, be content with obscurity, like Christ.

5-8 And that means killing off everything connected with that way of death: sexual promiscuity, impurity, lust, doing whatever you feel like whenever you feel like it, and grabbing whatever attracts your fancy. That’s a life shaped by things and feelings instead of by God. It’s because of this kind of thing that God is about to explode in anger. It wasn’t long ago that you were doing all that stuff and not knowing any better. But you know better now, so make sure it’s all gone for good: bad temper, irritability, meanness, profanity, dirty talk.

9-11 Don’t lie to one another. You’re done with that old life. It’s like a filthy set of ill-fitting clothes you’ve stripped off and put in the fire. Now you’re dressed in a new wardrobe. Every item of your new way of life is custom-made by the Creator, with his label on it. All the old fashions are now obsolete. Words like Jewish and non-Jewish, religious and irreligious, insider and outsider, uncivilized and uncouth, slave and free, mean nothing. From now on everyone is defined by Christ, everyone is included in Christ.

12-14 So, chosen by God for this new life of love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.

15-17 Let the peace of Christ keep you in tune with each other, in step with each other. None of this going off and doing your own thing. And cultivate thankfulness. Let the Word of Christ—the Message—have the run of the house. Give it plenty of room in your lives. Instruct and direct one another using good common sense. And sing, sing your hearts out to God! Let every detail in your lives—words, actions, whatever—be done in the name of the Master, Jesus, thanking God the Father every step of the way.
