“It is What it Is”

1/30/26  “It is what it is”. I know we are familiar with this term and it is used often. I think of it as a term people say when they are stating something that is sort of matter of fact. Similar to, ‘I said what I said’. Meaning I stand by my word or point of view.

When I heard, “IT IS WHAT IT IS” after asking Holy Spirit what should I talk about for today, I laughed. Holy Spirit is a personality and has humor. I thought okay. Nothing profound or deep just a simple matter of fact statement. It is what it is! I love how the Spirit of God invites us into these moments of spending time with Him, seeking and searching for true understanding and intimate fellowship with Him.

Like when two best friends are talking when they have all the time in the world. Best friends! Making time for each other, no agenda just chilling enjoying the moment. They know each other and pick up right where they left off. There is a comforting familiarity, respect and joy. Where both are excited about the exchange and eager to share. Nothing but love.

Now you know, best friends are going to tell you like it is. They love you but they are not going to sugar coat nothing. They will look you in your eyes and tell you exactly how it is. If you are wrong—they’re telling you. No holding back. If you ‘did that’ they’re congratulating and celebrating you—all in. They will correct you in love and then build you up and encourage you at the same time.

I have found there are times in life where God brings such clarity. Times where we may be striving, begging and pleading, waiting patiently and impatiently, double minded and doubtful, anxious, discouraged, wanting immediate results, guidance, and just Help.

I prayed in the Spirit because I needed help with this.

“WHAT DID GOD SAY?

(Scripture the infallible written Word of God)

(Jesus the Living Word of God)

(Holy Spirit inspired God breathed out Word of God)

3 Things:

Here are three things to solidify for you today, a demarcation, a line drawn, a path forward, a settling of things. A word of encouragement that comes with trust and ease. God hears and answers our prayers but we have to agree.

Here are 3 things to come in agreement with today and know that it is settled on your behalf. Don’t worry, don’t fear, don’t fret. Breathe it in. Pause. And breathe it out. Give glory honor and praise to Our God- the God who sees (El Roi) and the God who Hears (El Shama). Jesus addressed these 3 things and we Agree.

1*It is Written

Luke 4: (Jesus Is Tested in the Wilderness) Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry. The devil said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to become bread.” Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.” The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendor; it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. If you worship me, it will all be yours.” Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.

2*Faith Requires Action

Ask and it shall be given unto you; seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened unto you.    Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Matthew 7:7-8

3* Prophetic Fulfillment

* 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. (Matthew 5:18) KJV18 I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not even the smallest detail of God’s law will disappear until its purpose is achieved. NLT. If God said it, it is so. If God gave a condition, blessings for obedience. It is what it is.

In closing, Stand on the authority of God’s Word. Come in complete agreement. Agreement that is beyond your situation or the current circumstances you are in. It’s bigger than that. God watches over His Word to perform it. He sends it forth to accomplish its purpose. The Word works if you put the Word to work in you and for you, because “It Is What It Is”.

Be encouraged God’s beautiful people. Until next time.
